Number 91: Spam

Today is my 25th birthday and you know what that means- it’s time to begin the challenge!  I agonized for a long time over which of the Omnivore’s 100 I should start with.  I didn’t want it to be too amazing and crazy because, well, let’s face it- nobody really reads the first few blog posts you write.  But I didn’t want to wimp out and start with something lame like a PB&J.  Finally, after reading and re-reading the list about 100 times, I decided on Spam.

Spam is the perfect food for starting out this challenge because it’s a little bit ridiculous (like this challenge), it’s iconic, and everyone has an opinion on it.  You never hear someone say that Spam is just okay- you either hear violently horrible things about it or you hear how a pan-fried slab of it is the food of the gods.

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!

Foods I've never heard of but will probably end up eating...

Hey, I’m Kathryn. I’m 25, I live in Chicago, and…I don’t know how to put this…but I’m kind of a big deal.  Ok, that’s a complete lie.  I’m not at all.

I used to blog over at She Don’t Make False Claims, where I would fill people’s lives with ridiculousness and hilarity (ha, in my dreams!), but after about 6 months of pure genius, I decided to abandon the blog and take on a different project.  A challenge, if you will.  And not just any challenge.  A FOOD challenge! What does that mean?  I get to eat!  A lot!  And I definitely dig eating.
